Kid Kindness Program

The Kid Kindness program responds to families with children who display behavioral and emotional concerns. While some of the children have been identified from incidents of concern, impacting themselves and others, all have issues of exposure and trauma and show reactions that if left to develop could bring further hurt and life suffering. The clearly defined purpose of the Kid Kindness Program is to address behaviors, resolve trauma, support families and bring growth and health in children that last a life time.

The Kid Kindness program brought counseling services to the community beginning in 1994 through the initiative and partnership of CPC and the Florida Winefest and Auction.  Since that time Kid Kindness has served about 1,200 children and their families with more than 13,000 hours of counseling.  At the core of this effort we apply principles that balance the need for parental order and love.  We utilize cognitive, behavioral, developmental and gender specific approaches, while showing children that personal safety is a priority.  In a society that over exposes and under expresses with violence and sex we support parents in developing a proactive plan to bring healthy development and sexuality and bring strong character in their children.

With new facilities our program has an ideal setting to meet the specific need of children primarily 13 and younger.  We use play rooms, puppet stages, art, technology, an out door recreation area, and group rooms.  We provide crisis intervention, individual and group therapy and parenting education.
