CPT Services for Referred Patients
If you are working with the Department of Children and Families Child Protective Investigator and or law enforcement as a result of a child abuse investigation; you may be referred to the Child Protection Team for services. CPT’s services supplement the investigation activities of the Department of Children and Families and law enforcement. We are their consultants. CPT is medically directed by a Board Certified Pediatrician and a team of child protection professionals including: team coordinator, social workers, psychologist, approved medical providers, nurse, and team attorney.
As consultants to DCF and law enforcement, CPT provides expertise in evaluating alleged maltreatments of child abuse and neglect, assessing risk factors, and providing recommendations for interventions to protect children and families ‘ capacities to provide a safer environment when possible. CPT does this by providing the following services: medical assessments, medical consultations, forensic & specialized interviews, psychological evaluations, psychosocial assessments, multidisciplinary staffing, and expert court testimony.
All of our services are provided at the Child Protection Team Office locations. When you receive CPT services you will be meeting with a member of the Child Protection Team. If you have questions regarding our services, please do not hesitate to communicate your concerns to the CPT staff member. We will take the time to explain the process to you. This can be a very overwhelming time for you and your family. Please allow the Child Protection Center to help you better understand the Florida Child Protection System.
