Danielle Hughes has had over 15 years of advocacy at the Child Protection Center, serving as a child abuse expert. She is the Team Coordinator of the Child Protection Team, the only provider authorized by the state to perform its intervention services in Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. Danielle is also the founder of the PAWS (Pet Advocates Working in the Suncoast) Program, and additionally serves as a member of the Department of Health’s Quality Assurance Team, Critical Incident Rapid Response Team (CIRRT) Member, Child Death Review Member, Supervisor of the VOCA Victim Advocate/Administrative Duties, past co-chair of the Sarasota County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), and was recently appointed as a member of the Child Forensic Interview Advisory Committee with the Florida Department of Health. In 2020, Danielle was named “Child Advocate of the Year” by the Child Protection Center, making her the first CPC employee to receive the honor of this award. Danielle’s passion is advocating for abused children. “I LOVE Penn State University, the Peanuts Gang (specifically Snoopy) and DOGS. I’m married to my best friend (he is my rock) and we have four dogs.”
