  • April 2/9/16/23/30: Happy Hour Give Back Tuesdays
    • Every Tuesday during the month of April, Michael’s on East (1212 South East Avenue, Sarasota) is dedicating a portion of sales from its All Night Happy Hour in their lounge to CPC.
  • April 5: Wear Blue Day
    • Blue is the color for child abuse prevention. Join us in spreading awareness for #WearBlueDay on Friday, April 5th by going #BlueForKids! Share your commitment with family, friends, and coworkers and encourage them to join you in wearing blue, take a pic, tag CPC, and use the hashtags! (For extra fun, if you tag CPC or email your pics to, we just might feature you in a #BlueForKids wrap-up video at the end of April!) Missed the 5th? No worries- you can raise awareness and share #BlueForKids pics all month long!
  • April 9-10, Noon to Noon: The Giving Challenge
    • This is an exciting 24-hour online giving event during which The Patterson Foundation will provide a 1:1 match for all unique donations, up to $100 per donor, per organization. It’s an excellent time to rally behind the local nonprofits you believe in and wish to help succeed! Click here to donate to CPC for the Giving Challenge.
  • April 10: Blue Ties & Butterflies Gala

  • April 16: Digital Advocacy Day
    • Join us in participating in Prevent Child Abuse America’s nationwide Digital Advocacy Day on April 16th to raise our collective voice together. With this easy-to-use platform, you can be an advocate today and email, tweet, or call your member of Congress in less than 2 minutes and show your support for all families.   • April 18: Volunteer Day at CPC
    • Held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. CPC is busier than ever and we need your help. Our goal is to further connect you to our mission, give you a behind-the-scenes look into what we do, and to tackle our ever-growing to-do-list. To get involved, contact Lou Ann at or 941-365-1277 Ext. 120.
  • April 24: Childhood 2.0 Screening
  • April 24: Denim Day
    • This is a day of awareness to honor and support victims and survivors of sexual violence. People are encouraged to wear denim to combat victim blaming and educate others about sexual violence. If posting on social media, use the hashtag ‘#DenimDay’.
  • April 26: National Crime Victims’ Rights Week 5K
    • Free of charge! Walk or run to help crime survivors find their justice. Join the Sarasota County Victim Advisory Council in partnership with the National Organization for Victim Assistance for the annual NCVRW 5K! Join advocates, crisis responders, survivors, and community members as we walk together to raise awareness for the advancements of crime victims’ rights. No registration fee or sign-up; just show up with your water and your sneakers. Can participate in person at Rothenbach Park (8650 Bee Ridge Rd at 8:00 AM) or virtually from your own preferred location.
