Child Protection Center Awarded Grant from Caldwell Trust- The Children and Families Supervised Visitation Program Named Grant Recipient

The Child Protection Center, Inc. (CPC) was selected as a recipient of the Caldwell Trust in November. The grant was applied to The CPC’s Children and Families Supervised Visitation Program (CFSVP).

The Children and Families Supervised Visitation Program (CFSVP) provides a safe place for children to interact with parents without the stress of being in the middle of a family argument, observing a parent who is impaired by substance abuse and without uncomfortable conversations that include adult topics. By accessing the CFSVP, the risk of violence to children will decrease. Ongoing parent and child contact, through supervised visitation, has been shown to be crucial to a child’s mental health and ability to build a healthy relationship with the non-custodial parent. Over 70 Sarasota County citizens serve as CFSVP volunteers.

Caldwell Trust Company was founded in November of 1993 to provide personal, traditional, and independent trust services.

Since its inception in 1980, the Child Protection Center has grown in service capabilities to become the only DeSoto and Sarasota service provider with a multifaceted approach to the prevention, intervention, and treatment, of child abuse. The four core programs that work towards the mission of The CPC include; Personal Safety and Community Awareness (PSCA), Child Protection Team (CPT), Children and Families Supervised Visitation Program (CFSVP), and Therapy programs. In 2018, The CPC provided over 84,000 services.
