Help Our Clients Find Joy This Holiday Season

Our staff takes great strides to make the holiday season special for our clients, many of whom struggle this time of year. It’s difficult to work through the trauma that follows child abuse while surrounded by a carefree world of cheer and merriment. Each December, CPC brings joy to our clients by passing out goodies that encourage bonding, normalcy, self care, and fun while bringing laughter and comfort during a difficult time, and that is a truly wonderful thing.
This is made possible through the generosity of our community.

If you’d like to get involved, we encourage you to start gathering some of the goodies listed below. Businesses are also welcome to participate by collecting items in their stores.
Items can be dropped off or mailed to our Sarasota office (Mon-Fri 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM).
North Port drop off times are by appointment only.
If possible, please have gifts dropped off by December 12th so our staff has time to shop for items that are still needed and arrange pick-ups with our families.

A Note of Gratitude from a Client
I’m a single mother of four beautiful children. My family has been the recipient of the kindness, support, and generosity of the Sarasota Child Protection Center during challenging circumstances.
I wanted to let you know that the gifts we received at Christmas impacted our lives in a surprisingly profound way—more than I could have imagined.
In times of struggle, traditions can bring comfort, or they can deepen our distress when we’re unable to uphold them. Because of your generosity, my family was able to feel love and peace during a season when both were scarce.
For my children, the personalized and thoughtful gifts brought a sense of normalcy and abundance, which provided feelings of safety and security at a time of great uncertainty and difficulty in our family.
Please know that these gifts are more than gifts; they are tangible acts of love, felt more deeply than you may ever know.
From the bottom of my heart:
Thank you for bringing light to our Christmas.
